Expert: iPhone 14 sales dive 75% amid lack of Apple’s guarantee
MOSCOW, Oct 14 (PRIME) -- Sales of the iPhone 14 in Russia have plunged 75% in comparison to sales of the iPhone 13 in 2021 because of the absence of Apple’s guarantee and high prices, Mobile Research Group leading analyst Eldar Murtazin told PRIME on Friday.
Murtazin said that the new models have no improvements, besides, “the official market ended since the Russian Federation has parallel import.”
“It means the lack of Apple’s guarantee, and we see that there is no trade-in or instalments with regular terms. This is why we see quite poor sales. Moreover, it is expensive for the consumer. The concept has changed, the people have become more rational, and sales dropped four times. On the whole, the market has altered dramatically,” the analyst said.
Mobile operator Tele2 said it registered by 250% more iPhone 13 smartphones on its network during the first four weeks after the release than iPhone 14 models in the first month of their sales.
Its peer MTS said that the number of registered iPhone 14 in the period of September 16–Wednesday was by 60% below the number of iPhone 13 devices in the same period of 2021.
